Ruby Australia Special General Meeting (SGM) - Monday 5 May 2025

Please be advised that Ruby Australia will be holding a Special General Meeting on Monday 5 May 2025. To accommodate our members around Australia, this meeting will be held online via Zoom at the following time:

Ruby Australia holds a scheduled Special General Meeting in-between our Annual General Meetings. This SGM is an opportunity for the Committee to report back to the community on what’s been happening in the Australian Ruby community, for the community to ask questions and raise issues directly with the Committee, and for members of the community to nominate and vote on members of the Ruby Australia Committee.

All members of the Ruby community in Australia are most welcome and encouraged to attend. To vote in the elections, you simply need to be a registered member of Ruby Australia - you can join or confirm your membership details at www.ruby.org.au.

The Zoom meeting link will be posted in the #general channel of the Ruby Oceania Slack on the day of the event, and will also be included in the email reminder sent out prior to the meeting. If you're not already a member of the Ruby Oceania Slack, you can access your invite once you have registered as a member of Ruby Australia (which is free of charge).

Committee Elections
As part of the proceedings, there will be Committee Elections for the roles of:

All elected roles are for a 12 month term, except for the Treasurer role, which carries a 24 month term.

We have more details about the available roles in the Ruby Oceania Slack, and we encourage people to submit nominations, whether for themselves or for others in the community. If you have questions about any of these roles, please reach out the Ruby Australia committee (contact details below).

If you wish to vote at the SGM, but are unable to attend this meeting, you can register a proxy representative to vote on your behalf at the meeting - this can be done via www.ruby.org.au. Please note that proxy submissions must be received no less than 72 hours prior to the SGM (before COB Friday 2 May 2025).
